The origin of the word "travel" is most likely lost to history. The term "travel" may originate from the Old French word travail. According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, the first known use of the word travel was in the 14th century. It also states that the word comes from Middle English travailen, travelen (which means to torment, labor, strive, journey) and earlier from Old French travailler (which means to work strenuously, toil). In English we still occasionally use the words travail and travails, which mean struggle.
Purpose and motivation
Reasons for traveling include recreation, tourism or vacationing, research travel for the gathering of information, for holiday to visit people, volunteer travel for charity, migration to begin life somewhere else, religious pilgrimages and mission trips, business travel, trade, commuting, and other reasons, such as to obtain health care or fleeing war or for the enjoyment of traveling. Travel may occur by human-powered transport such as walking or bicycling, or with vehicles, such as public transport, automobiles, trains and airplanes.
Taylor Swift Hangs With Adam Rippon, Todrick Hall & More in New 'YNTCD' Behind-the-Scenes Footage: Watch
It’s been one month since Taylor Swift released the star-studded music video to her Pride anthem “You Need to Calm Down.” Featuring stars like Adam Lambert, Ellen DeGeneres, RuPaul and so many more, the cameo-filled video became an instant phenomenon. There were so many celebrities, in fact, that Taylor is still giving you new glimpses behind the curtain of what went down while shooting her video.
On Wednesday (July 18), in an exclusive with People magazine, Taylor Swift gave fans a third look at what happened during the video shoot in a behind-the-scenes video. This time, the video focuses on the inhabitants of Swift’s rainbow colored trailer park, including Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon, YouTube star Hannah Hart and model Dexter Mayfield.
The video opens with Swift explaining to Hart how involved she would be in the shot, much to Hart’s delight. “I literally thought I was gonna get a pan from a camera for just a moment, so all this sounds amazing,” Hart says with a laugh. “I was expecting to be, like, fourth row. Like, ‘actually, Ms. Hart, could you turn around?’”
In another moment, as the group poses for a photograph, Swift comments on how good Rippon looks in his mesh crop-top. “You look phenomenal,” she says, in disbelief. “I love that your nipples are making a cameo. That’s a separate cameo.”
Of course, Taylor’s good friend and frequent collaborator Todrick Hall makes another appearance in this video, wearing his long heart-covered robe. When Taylor asked him how he was feeling, Hall responded saying, "This is maybe the best I’ve felt since the day I came out.”
